Session Description - This session will provide an overview of the breadth of the competencies and concepts within Information Governance.  Will provide a view of the rational for Information Governance within an organisational context.  The challenges that will need to be overcome in establishing Information Governance procedures and will discuss the approach to getting started and the best place to start on a journey to implementation of Information Governance.

Speaker Bio - Dermot Moore is a specialist in Corporate Information Governance and eDiscovery and regularly speaks on these subjects at both local and international conferences.  Dermot is a founding member of the eDiscovery Group of Ireland and joint author of the Good Practice Guide to eDiscovery in Ireland. Dermot is a Committee member of the Information and Records Management Society, Ireland Chapter, 2012 to 2014.  Member of the 2013 Advisory Council for the European Information Governance and eDiscovery Strategy Exchange (IQPC).  Member of ARMA International, the DLM Forum and the CGOC.  Dermot is additional a member of ISO TC 46 / SC 11 Interest Group for NSAI.  He has extensive experience of developing and managing the corporate processes for Information Governance, Records Management, and electronic Information Archiving which provide the foundation for corporate readiness for litigation or internal and external investigations.  Dermot has additionally developed the procedures for Identification, Collection and Preservation of Electronically Stored Information to support internal investigations, litigation and regulatory investigations for one of Irelands leading financial services organisations. Dermot has over 27 years of leading, architecting and delivering real business process change and automation for corporate organisations utilizing leading edge technology solutions and services.
