“MAST – Mobile Archives Standardization Tools”

Milovan Miscis

Session Description - MAST © - Mobile Archives Standardization Tool – is a single mobile application for the use on Android and Apple platforms, suitable for most commonly used mobile and devices. Development for Windows8 Mobile and the BlackBerry is currently under review. It is based on ISO standards.

MAST © project was designed as a practical tool for records and archives practitioners who are working in low resource environments, such as Africa, Caribbean and South America. Use of mobile technology, combined with additional set of functionalities, directly supports implementation of e-government administrative reforms, openness of the archives and adequate management and preservation of digital records.

The main component of the MAST © is a tool that provides full compliance with major international standards applicable to records and archives practices.

In addition the extensions to an on-line training and other tools directly support capacity building in the records and archive profession.
